Give me FOOD!

Hey hey hey! Above is a photo from the Colonial Tramcar Restaurant Dan and I went on in Melbourne – use the link if you care to check out some photos – there are also photos of Dan at the Australia Zoo. I don’t know why I am not in any of them -its all just Dan…. kind of depressing now that I think about it – he was all over the place and the only thing I did was feed an elephant. I could show you that picture, but I didn’t feel like buying it for $25. Whoops. Additionally, regarding the photo – yes, I did have a ginormous zit on my forehead for the entire trip. Yep. That’s me, giant zit girl. No comments neccessary, I already heard it all from Dan the entire time we were there. Now all our photos are ruined, hence the faraway shot of me in front of the tramcar sign is definitely my favorite.

Oh yeah, and we went to the Zoo as well – but that was also a while ago. I guess we did a lot in that month I didn’t post. Now things are winding down – I’m trying to get some stuff in before I leave, the countdown has begun, let me tell you. I’m down to six shifts left at work, one last day at the markets and one trip left. Dan and I are hopefully planning the trip tomorrow – we’ve been fighting about it for a week now and time has come to just make a decision and spend the damn money.

Last weekend Dan we sank the dinghy and everything got wet. Yep. Sank it and it floated away. Fortunately for us and Ken we got it back and it only cost us a lost bucket, crate and probably the sleep of our neighbors who were awoken by the delightful sounds of Dan screaming explatives while trying to bail out dinghy and get it back to Wave Dancer. Life is good when you live on a boat, let me tell you. Anyone who says the words “glamorous life” or “experience” to me when talking about the boat will get promptly slapped.

Got to go to work… More updates to come in the next few days, Promise!

Whoops! June 2, 2008

Ahem. So, its been a month. Yeah. I feel like I went on a couple dates with my blog and then never called him again – only to run into him at some awkward place like the grocery store with nothing but tampons in my basket. Too graphic?

Anyway…. since the last time I posted both of my parents, one of my brothers, a grandfather and probably some friends have all celebrated birthdays. Dan and I have taken a trip to Melbourne, I have seen an AFL game, eaten dinner on a colonial tramcar, said hello again and goodbye to Jess, thrown away countless clothes, heard 5,000 of Dan’s new passions/ideas, read about seven books, worked countless shifts at good ol P9 and finally booked my ticket home. I don’t know what the heck to write about because I have left it for so long and for that I am seriously sorry. I can tell you that my nickname at work is Jacke Very- Awesome – a play on my last name – and something that has now morphed into Jackie Very (insert word here). It could be jackie very pretty, jackie very mean or even Jackie very apologetic, as it was the other night. Its been fun. Seriously.

Why I am writing about it now, I have no freakin’ idea – but this is what runs through my head when I am actually writing this stupid blog. Oh – a Ken update….. I wrote him the other day just to check in and let him know when we were leaving and he wrote me back to say that I might not recognize him because he’s had plastic surgery done!! I am totally writing him back and asking for a photo – is that rude?

As for the things I’ve been keeping myself busy with – Melbourne was awesome. Great shopping and food – Dan and I had a blast. As for the AFL game we saw – don’t ever ask me any questions. I have no clue what was happening and may have been over-served prior to and during the game. All I know is I cheered (loudly) occasionally and wound up spending mucho dinero in the pro shop. Yeah. Dan seemed to have a great time, though. Brisbane has been sucking as of late because all it does is rain. Sunshine state my ass. I am waking up now to the delightful sounds of rain beating on Wave Dancer every day. I think I’m developing arm muscles from bailing out the dinghy though – so thats a bonus.

Can’t think of anything else exciting. I promise to post more regularly – I haven’t got much time left and I don’t think the blog will make it back to the states – I mean, what will I have to write about and who will even read it? Ugh.
